Hi all.

Just got a new notebook, with an intel c2duo penryn, 2,4 ghz, chipset is Mobile Intel PM45 Express, it's a fujitsu-siemens amilo pi 3540

activated performance on demand in profiles-current menue

activated the various options in the performance on demand menue

activated "OS-load based management" in management menue

activated "perform single step transitions only"

activated "enable os power management integration"

at "multi cpu load calculation" don't know what to activate - currently it's on "sum of cpu core loads"

but it doesn't work.

Rmclock indicates 800 mhz, but the fan ist going and going, and NCH shows that in fact it's running at 2,4 ghz.

very grateful for hints,

Aki

RMClock should work with that CPU (it works fine for me). The settings that you have listed above look OK. I am using "Sum of CPU core loads".

However, it is unclear whether you have enabled all the Index values on the main profile page and selected the Use P state transitions on the Performance on demand profile page and selected all the Index values. Do not enable throttling.

Hm, strange ... I have all the settings that you have ... and just changed at "intel core 2 family advanced" from desktop to mobile, with restart, but no difference;

what amazes me, is that in rmclock it shows 800 MHZ, but in NHC and in Everest at the same time it's at 2,4 GHZ

I just looked into the bios, because have read that EIST and cpu-auto-voltage should be enabled, but those options are not there ...

thanks for your input

Addition of June 01, 2010 01:59 AM:

well it just seems that it actually *did* work all the time, I was only mislead because NHC showed different values on cpu-speed as well as on temperature;

sigh ... this means that the fan runs even at 800 MHZ ... the cpu is only 52 degrees hot however ... so I will look for a tool to turn it off as long as it stays below 60 degrees celsius;

thanks and many greetings,

Aki

Thanks for the update.

It may be the dedicated GPU that is causing the fan to run.

HWmonitor will show temperatures of both the CPU and GPU.

GPU and CPU are pretty much the same ...

thanks for your informations, I am logging off here,
